The 2005 Piston Cup Season was known for being shown in Cars, and was when Lightning McQueen, Chick Hicks, and The King were tied with 5013 points, and it was the final race of the season. Lightning got a huge lead in the race after skipping a pit stop. On the final lap, he blew his rear tires, so he hopped towards the finish line. The King, Chick Hicks, and Lightning all tied. A tie-breaker race was held in Los Angeles International Speedway one week later for the 3 leaders. Lightning and Floyd Mulvihill were rookies.
