Lightning McQueen, the 2006 Piston Cup champion

Darren Leadfoot finished second in points

Rookie Cal Weathers finished third in the championship

Ryan Shields finished fourth in the standings

The 2006 Piston Cup Season was the 62nd annual Piston Cup season. Famous Dinoco racer Strip Weathers (also known as The King) retired and was replaced by his nephew, Cal Weathers. Former Piston Cup racer Chick Hicks was banned from the Piston Cup after the tiebreaker due to him crashing The King in the tie-breaker race. However, Chick did not get replaced by any racer, and Hostile Takeover Bank soon went bankrupt.
