2022 Piston Cup Season

This season is confirmed to have 6 rookies by now, but there might be more, since there will obviously be fired racers, like last season. This season will have BIG changes. Jeff Gorvette will be replaced by Dale Earnhardt Jr. as commentator.

Changes

The pre-qualification system

This will be used, and only 42 racers will qualify for the race so some will not be able to race. But the list of registered racers CANNOT be more than 50.

Points system

This season the point system for each race will change. The Results Points will be the same. But since 2022 Whoever does the fast lap gets an extra point. In addition, 1 extra point will be given for leading 1 lap and 1 extra point for the one who leads the most laps in the entire race.

Wet tyres

Lightyear confirmed for races with rain, special tires will be used, this will be done to bring more spectacle.

Technical regulations

In this year will be new technical regulations so that the smaller teams can fight with the bigger teams.

Descents and Promotions

This year will be the first season of the Piston Cup B, at the end of the season the four best teams will ascend to the Piston Cup and the four worst teams in the Piston Cup will descend to the Piston Cup B, This system will be ONLY for Full-Time Racers. With The Part-Timers more details will be revelated soon.

Testings days

there will be three days of testing, the first will be done before the season start in Florida, the second at Texas before the All Star Race and the last in Los Angeles after the final race. In day test 3 in LA, the new teams that went up from the Piston Cup B will be able to race but those that went down to Piston Cup B will not be able to do so, and the rookies of 2023 will also run and the fired or retired ones will not.

In addition, in each race of the season, fans from all over the world will be able to ask questions to the racers who are there that day.

RPM Clash

There will be also a Clash just like the real NASCAR.
